Longhorn grazing contentedly while the snow flies. Often while traveling with my husband we come across a place where the view before us is fleeting but imprints a powerful image upon the memory. While driving up Interstate 84 east of Pendleton OR, in mid February and in freezing weather while snow was spitting, we exited the highway to return back to town on the Old Emigrant Hill Road. Winding down this local road, coming around a hairpin bend, this longhorn was grazing atop the ridge. My husband slowed down, while I opened my window to get off a couple shots of him, he lifted his head and click, this image was the result.
