Re.Past Bakery and Cafe - Exterior - Fisheye Lens

Early this morning at dawn, I drove up over the hill into the Mount Baker neighborhood to photograph the Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Floating Bridge, more commonly known to Seattleites as the I-90 Bridge. After spending an hour in the 33 degree weather, I returned to an overlook on 31st Avenue South to photograph downtown Seattle in the early morning light. Across the street from the overlook was the Re.Past Bakery and Cafe. The Re.Past Bakery and Cafe is located in a renovated small storefront from an earlier era, but now welcomes customers into a cozy interior where there is seating for a few patrons at a couple tables and at a bar with stools.

The two owners are friendly and prepare delicious pastries and light fare such as sandwiches. When I wandered a few minutes past eight in the morning, there were pans of bread and rolls rising on the stove top behind the counter. A small display case held fresh pastries from which to choose. I chose a scone and a latte.

When my latte was finished, it was presented with a beautiful example of foam art.

When I exclaimed how pretty it was, the owner said, ‘It tastes better that way!” Do visit, the Re.Past Bakery and Cafe is located at 1418 31st Ave South in Seattle, sit inside, outside at the sidewalk tables or across the street with a stunning view of downtown.
