Valentine’s Day, originally called Saint Valentine’s Day wasn’t associated with love and affection until the Middle Ages and flourished in the royal courts of Europe during the Victorian era when cards were typically hand made until the late 1800s when they became mass produced cards and post cards, such as this example:
Love so steady, love so fine,
Be my Valentine and I’ll be thine.
If we love each other, rain or shine, We’ll be rockin’ hand in hand
At a hundred ninety-nine.
