The wildfires burning in Washington,

Oregon and California have been so tragic.  They have burned property,

and homes.  Extremely sad, they have taken about 40 lives so far.

We live in southwest Washington,

the Cold Creek Fire about 35 miles from our home has closed SR 12, White Pass,

the southern route through the Cascade Mountains.

There are many more fires in Washington.

Oregon has many fires burning, many in the western part of the state.

California has many active fires as well.

The smoke from these fires has constantly blown in on a south,

southwest wind the last week or so.

Our visibility was down to about 600 feet over the weekend

but yesterday the smoke lifted a bit and we’re back to about a half mile visibility.

The wind has picked up again this afternoon, increasing the smoke in the air

and decreasing air quality towards hazardous again.

I haven’t been able to go outside for more than a few minutes in

over a week, due to my asthma.

This morning I took a chance and spent an hour in my vegetable garden,

harvesting tomatoes, green beans and beets.

How are you fairing these days?

Hoping you and yours are safe and

I continue to pray for those

affected by these

terrible fires.

Blessings,
