Driving around yesterday,

coming back down from Green Mountain,

I turned down another country road I hadn’t explored before.

The sky was gorgeous,

filled with beautiful sunshine and clouds.

Such a welcome change from rain, rain and well, more rain!

Here along Blankenship Road just southeast of the town of Mossyrock,

I spotted this hawk sitting in an alder tree just about 10 feet off the country lane.

He stuck around long enough for me to get a few shots off

before he took off for parts unknown.

I don’t own a good birding lens,

but when they’re close as he was,

my Pentax FA * 80-200mm lens works fine.

How’s the weather around your place this week?

We’re beginning to look a bit like spring!

Yay!
