MOUNT ADAMS

Mount Adams from near Trout Lake WA

Last week,

my husband and I spent a few days in Goldendale, WA.

On our drive over down Forest Road 23,

the mountains were socked in with low clouds.

But on the drive home,

the skies were crystal clear, the autumn sun bright and warm.

The fall leaves were  brilliant shades of

yellow, gold and red.

Here,

just barely north of the small eastern Washington town of Trout Lake,

I captured this beautiful view of Mount Adams.

Mount Adams is only visible

from a few places in south central eastern Washington,

like Glenwood, Trout Lake, and Goldendale,

and a few spots on FR23.

It is not seen from Interstate 5

like Mounts Baker, Rainier and Saint Helens are.

Mount Adams is mostly a hidden, snow covered, volcanic gem,

waiting to be seen on the blue highways

and dirt roads that we love

to explore.

Blessings Always,
