Reflection : re·flec·tion : rəˈflekSH(ə)n : [noun] : the throwing back by a body or surface of light, heat, or sound without absorbing it.
A famous photographer said,
‘It’s all about the light.’
Though I cannot remember who said that,
I think about light every time I take my camera out to shoot.
Without light there would be no photographs,
without light we cannot see.
Have you ever been in a deep mine where there is no light whatsoever
and had the tour guide tell everyoneto turn off their headlamps?
Absolute darkness, nothing.
You can see nothing!

So light is a miraculous gift of God to enjoy His creation,
He gave the sun for day and the moon and stars
for the dark nights.

Yesterday,
I took my Fuji XT2 with me,
driving the back roads near Morton and Mossyrock.
The brilliant early afternoon light dappled the forest surrounding me
with deep, dark shadows and vivid greens,
some yellows and bits of red.
Driving up in elevation, on a Forest Road I came upon a small bridge,
as I approached the forest gave way to this
shallow pond on Simmons creek.
A small fir tree about six or eight feet tall was growing out of
an old Western Red cedar stump in the water.
The light from the cloudless,
clear cerulean blue sky cast this appealing dark umber shadow
on the pond surface, the slight early fall breeze
causing the subtle ripple,
forming an almost abstract
piece of art.

Speaking of art,
my husband bought in and put up the four shelving units
in my art room today,
so now, I can begin putting
things away,
yay!
~Blessings Always~
Wow – that is absolutely amazing. I love it when something suddenly appears when going someplace. And super great about the shelves – always fun to organize and arrange things.
Sorry to be so tardy in replying to your comment, life… where does the time go anyway?? Lol… yes, I’m so tickled to get things organized!
Beautiful image. I love reflections. You seem to get two for the price of one. That’s just the way my mind works sometimes.
Sorry to be so tardy in replying to your comment, life… where does the time go anyway?? Yes, isn’t that the truth about reflections though, a twofer!

Sorry to be so tardy in replying to your comment, life… where does the time go anyway?? Thanks Pat for your kind words, besides being so terribly busy with buying, moving and selling, I got a bit weary posting to my blog after 9 years, but after a respite, I feel like posting again, perhaps not with the frequency as in earlier years where it was rather consuming, but a gentler flow of images and life.
Nice!
Sorry to be so tardy in replying to your comment, life… where does the time go anyway?? Thanks Sandi for stopping by and your kind words!
