was taken along a clear, cold, rushing, tumbling stream
flowing into the icy Carbon River,
near the roads end at the Carbon Glacier
at the foot of Mount Rainier.

created a set of ‘Steps into the Woods,’
I almost expect some mythical forest creature
to peek over the rim
and wink.

The kind of detail that always fascinates me and attracts my camera. In Medieval England “forest” just meant an area of land preserved for hunting, no trees necessary.
A wonderful shot – and I could just imagine the creature popping up and winking at us – maybe taking us on a little jaunt through the woods. The colors are amazing. Good to see you here!!
