While out walking
our Cori-mix rescue pup, Lucy,
I saw some lichens of various types on the drenched walkway,
having fallen in the wind the night before.
They are so delicate, so easily torn and damaged,
but it takes some force for the wind to dislodge them from clinging to their home,
the branches high above my head.

Not having anything to carry them in,
I carefully loaded up my left hand, tried not to crush them,
so when our rainy day walk was over I carried
them to the car, then inside the house
to dry on a paper towel.

This morning,
I took several shots of them with my cell phone
and a little rubber band type attachment that allows these very close up images,
although the definition isn’t the best, like from a macro lens,
the images are still quite fascinating to view.
I love their intricate shapes,
and their soft, pale sage green color,
like little shaggy green
tree ghosts.

Love those delicate traceries…
Very interesting – and amazing photo. I’m intrigued by macros – this is a wonderful one.
