Washtucna Coulee – Weekly Top Shot #177

Washtucna Coulee - Franklin County WA

Cou·lee : ko͞olē : [noun] : a deep ravine carved by receding glaciers in a lava flow.

Here,

just east of the small, rural,

south central eastern Washington town of Connell,

is a great view of Washtucna Coulee.

Carved during the melting of the last ice age,

it carried a huge river of run off

into what we now call the Snake River.

This place was beautiful

and wild.
