Looking down upon the undulating fields of wheat

in spring from Steptoe Butte is like looking a variegated green waves on the ocean.

The Palouse is by far my favorite region of Washington state.

My annual photography trip

will commence this Sunday the 17th

and end a week later on Saturday the 23rd.

I am looking forward to this trip with great anticipation,

it is like my spirit is dancing within me to be in this beautiful, peaceful place again.

To be able to saturate myself in these fields and small towns,

allows for solitude that refreshes my soul to its core.

The last two trips I lunched at

Cordelia Lutheran Church in Genesee, ID.

Built in the 1860s, it is a tiny one-room white clapboard church about 15’x30′

with about sixteen six-foot rough, plain wooden pews, a small pulpit and old pump organ.

Outside is an outhouse and hand pump for water,

and all the quiet you can soak up.
