Here,
during a cold, winter predawn morning,
I was standing in the middle of Fifth Avenue, under the elevated Monorail tracks,
near the Seattle Center north of downtown.

With my camera mounted on my tripod,
capturing the view of the Space Needle between the Monorail tracks,
traffic would occasionally round the corner coming south off of Denny Way
making it necessary for me to grab my gear and ‘jump’ out of the lane of travel until
the coast was clear to set up again.

This shot was made
while the shutter was already open
when I had to grab and go,
making this rather an
odd bit of ‘art.’
