Ripe Sunflower – Weekly Top Shot #149

Ripe Sunflower Head

Sun·flow·er : sənˌflou(-ə)r : [noun] : a tall North American plant of the daisy family, with very large golden-rayed flowers, cultivated for their edible seeds.

Here,

in the lovely garden

of a good friend of mine,

a giant sunflower has begun the process of ripening.

:  :  :

She loves

to feed the wild birds which come to her feeders.

I am sure these seeds will

fill some of her feeders

this fall.
