Here,
in the garden of a good friend,
I’ve captured a closeup of one of the blooms on her hydrangea,
one that has turned a lovely, dusty shade of lavender.
: : :
She invited me over
to take photos of her glorious gardens.
I edited and gave her seventy-three images,
and have them to post to my
blog as well.

Afterwards,
we had coffee and a decadent pastry
in the air-conditioned Grand Central Bakery
in Burien.

Good coffee is a pleasure,
good friends are
a treasure!

And a good garden is a glory. And a haven.
Awesome!!!!…:)JP
gorgeous blooms
I know that the elements in soil determine color of those hydrangeas….they don’t grow around here, so I think they might not be good in this zone. I do have the lime-white one (not a mophead, but similar), and a lace cap that starts creamy white and turns reddish as the flowers age. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ones that bloom in colors….I was able to enjoy some in SE Portland last year when we were visiting our son and his wife. When I see the blue ones in Home Depot in the spring, I’m always so tempted to buy one, but I don’t think they would survive. Your photo is beautiful, Madge…again, so wonderfully focused.
Gorgeous, Madge!!! I just love how you get right in there and show us what they look like up close and personal. Love the dusty lavender ones best.
gorgeous!!
This quite a ‘bloom’. Just like you!
