Seattle’s famous Pike Place Market,
a produce vendor displays some red, ripe and juicy looking beefsteak tomatoes
alongside a small wire basketful
of pungent garlic heads in paper thin
white skins.

these two placed together makes me think Italian,
it’s what’s on the menu for
dinner tonight.

I like the garlic and the bright red tomatoes
I can smell the market now. A fine shot that’s typical of the great vegetables that make it hard to choose which vendor to buy from.

Tomatoes and garlic are favorites of mine too! Add some onion and grill a burger.
It would be fun to walk through the market and see all the pretty produce.
Mmmmmm – summer! I got a beefsteak tomato today too – locally grown up here in Bellingham – can’t wait to taste that tomato sandwich (on fresh homemade bread) tonight.

As a kid we used to pick the tomatoes off the vine and eat them like apples … oh, they were so delicious. Today it’s the Beef Steak Tomato that brings back those memories … such delicious memories:)
