Super Bowl Champions - XLVIII - Seattle Space Needle in Seahawks Colors

The Super Bowl, a game like no other in the world.

:  :  :

American football is a game unto itself,

unlike some sports which are enjoyed by people in many nations.

:  :  :

Yesterday,

our Seattle Seahawks,

won the biggest prize in football,

the coveted Super Bowl and the Vince Lombardi trophy.

:  :  :

There will be a parade

for the team on Wednesday

from near the Space Needle at the Seattle Center down Fourth Avenue

to CenturyLink Field in Pioneer Square.

:  :  :

I have watched every season of their 38 years as a team,

but I’ve only had the delight to attend about ten games in person

and all of those were in the Kingdome.

:  :  :

Our Governor declared yesterday as ‘Seahawk Sunday.’

‘Mount Rainier was declared ‘Mount Seattle Seahawks,’

and Mount Rainier National Park was declared ’12th Man National Park,’

by our Washington State Legislature,

from Friday January 31st until noon today.

Some of our ferry fleet were ‘re-named’ for Super Bowl Sunday as well.

:  :  :

We couldn’t be more proud of our team!

It was a huge win over the Denver Broncos.

I actually felt sorry for Peyton Manning

and the Broncos a couple times yesterday,

but it was fleeting.

GO HAWKS!

    • Evelyn Spikes: It’s pretty easy to see that it’s located in a damp climate! And, “No, I don’t believe I would want to drink water from it.” Great shot, though.
    • Jo Ann Bayne: I’d rather not drink water from that tank – but it is being put to a good use for the tech equipment – better than erecting one more unsightly cell phone tower.

    • MaryBeth: Hi Marge, I wondered where you went. I guess I didn’t look hard enough. I thought about you when we were in Eastern Washington on the weekend and now your name just popped up on...
    • bill burke: Nice reflection! That is one rusty and long chain.

    • Nonnie: no, it wasn’t TMI! thanks for informing me about Queen Anne’s Lace other moniker. I’d be tickled if someone chose my name for an animal.
    • Evelyn Spikes: Strange yellow…but I agree that it’s pretty! Albino, maybe? 😉
