in Tacoma,
the East 21st Street Suspension Bridge’s cables
create a pleasing design as they shine white-blue against the dark night sky.

While this is a pretty white,
very modern bridge,
I prefer the look of the old steel truss bridges
of my childhood.
Painted green,
carrying two narrow lanes of traffic,
one in each direction,
with a sidewalk
on
either
side.
