Washington state is a major producer of wine grapes and wine.
: : :
Here,
in the south central eastern Washington region
of the Horse Heaven Hills,
some green grapes hang lusciously from the vine,
waiting for the perfect juncture of time, temperature and sugar content
to meet, so the harvest can commence
and the eventual
transformation into a
lovely,
crisp white wine.

Personally,
I prefer red wines.
Full bodied,
Merlot, is my favorite.
But, occasionally,
I enjoy a glass or two of a sweet white wine,
like Gewürztraminer with some really sharp cheddar cheese and good bread,
with a nibble of dark chocolate for desert.
Best consumed on the windy beach,
with a bit brisk salt breeze
and bright sunshine,
while sitting on a blanket enjoying my husband’s company,
while Lucy digs holes in the sand
or chases a few gulls.

These grapes are gorgeous!
i am a red wine drinker, too. or a blush. but that’s a pretty shot of healthy grapes.

Our grapes are long gone, but I did manage to freeze a few! These look delish. xo
Great shot and wonderful lighting on the grapes ~ fascinating post ~ thanks, carol (A Creative Harbor)
Love the lighting on this shot, really makes those beautiful grapes ‘pop’.
Sounds like a great way to spend some time. The picture is beautiful too. :-)
Yum! I like white wine better than red unless it is a dessert wine from our local winery.
Beautiful grapes!! Virginia has become quite a producer of wines also …. hubby and I love to travel our state and go to tastings :)
