Almost Here… Autumn

Almost Here… Autumn

Red Maple Leaves

Autumn, one of four distinct seasons in the Pacific Northwest.

:  :  :

Here,

along 24th Avenue South

(a street I drive on my school bus route daily a number of times)

are fallen red maple leaves,

wet with rain.

While the trees are just beginning to turn color now,

this image

was caught last fall at the height of fall.

These are not native to the northwest,

but whatever variety they are,

beautiful

certainly describes

them well.

Today,

is ‘Random 5 Friday,’

over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal,’

where we link up a post with some facts about ourselves.

Here are my five:

(1) Today is ‘Seahawks Friday’ at work, and I’ll be wearing my 12th man jersey.

(2) The repairs on my car take place next week, damage from the hit and run I was involved in about a month ago.

(3) I have some good news but you’ll all have to wait about 6 weeks before I can say anything.

(4) My school bus has been in the shop twice now since school started… sigh.

(5) I’m hoping to get up early tomorrow and go out ‘shooting’…you know, with my camera!

: : :

There you go,

see you tomorrow for

‘Weekly Top Shot #101.’

  1. I believe those maples came from the Northeast as those maples are in abundance there. That is the thing I miss most about the places I moved…no autumn color. I have a beautiful autumn tablecloth and I joke that my table has more color than the trees do.

    Coming from Random 5 Friday.
