Wine Grapes - Near Goldendale WA

Wine grapes, different each season depending upon time and weather.

:  :  :

Washington state produces

more than thirty varieties of wine grapes,

both east and west of the Cascade Mountains.

:  :  :

Washington

is the second largest producer of wine in our country

with more than 750 wineries,

both large and small.

:  :  :

Here,

in the warm, sunny vineyards

near the south central Washington town of Goldendale,

in the Horse Heaven Hills,

wine grapes await that perfect of juncture of time,

weather

and

sugar content

when they

will be

harvested.

For inquiring minds, who want to know,

my new header,

is also shot from near the town of Goldendale,

looking northwest at one of our state’s three vocanoes,

Mount Adams.

  1. Gorgeous header image!

The grapes look like they are bursting with flavor! The image brings back fond memories of a former house we lived in as newlyweds. There was a Concord grapevine there and I used to make jelly and jam when the birds didn’t beat me to the harvest. We quickly learned about netting!
