Scratching an itch, we all need to do it.
: : :
The song ‘Cat Scratch Fever,’
by Ted Nugent really has nothing to do with my post,
but when I was looking at my image to create a title for it, calf scratching then became ‘calf scratch fever,’
in the convoluted workings of my mind.
: : :
Here in the very early morning, shadows were long,
and this calf in a pasture near the small, rural town of LaCrosse WA,
was doing her best to relieve an itch.
: : :
Itching and scratching,
we all do it.
An itch is a powerful physical sensation,
that most of us cannot not find a way to relieve by scratching,
neither can critters.
Whether relieved by ourselves
or with the help of others,
we’ll get it done!

Today,
is ‘Random 5 Friday,’
over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal,’
where we link up a post with some facts about ourselves.
Here are my five:
(1) I love all the new techie gadgets, my smart phone especially, I’ll take it any day over a ‘dumb’ phone.
(2) Italian food is my favorite restaurant choice, oh wait, there is Japanese and Chinese…
(3) The only place I listen to music is in my car.
(4) I enjoy visiting pioneer churches in rural areas, they are always unlocked. Bidding me in to sit, read the Bible and sing hymns a capella.
(5) Dawn and sunrise are my favorite time of the day.

There you go,
see you tomorrow for
‘Weekly Top Shot #97.’

What a great shot! You can just feel the satisfaction of the scratch! Have a great weekend. xx
I love this shot! Soooo cute. And the perfect caption for it as well!
Very good photo Madge….i like it.
Greetings, Joop
I love this! Such a great photo of the little calf. Great caption, too!
Great picture and I love your title!
I’m not much of a techie and still have a dumb phone. LOL!! Early morning is my favorite time of day too, so quiet and peaceful. :)
So cute!
This calf is so cute. I can literally “feel” the calf’s soft fur by looking at the picture.
I love the image I get in my mind concerning the visit to the rural church and sitting in it’s welcoming
pews to sing a hymn acapella. I am sure so many attended church after a long week of working on the farm.
What a lovely thought for all.
Wouldn’t it be sweet to sing together, especially if we one of us could sing harmony! :-)
Love how your mind works Madge. Sweet, sweet calf. xo
A fine capture of this itch inspired contortion. :-)
I have an itch! ;) Love this shot. I don’t think I have a restaurant of choice … I like them all…!!! I like early morning best and I’m not a techie … don’t have a smart phone and will only get one when that is the only choice! Fun 5.
There’s a scratch for every itch. What a cute shot this is, Madge!
This is a great photo and the perfect title.
I enjoyed your Random 5 – I listen to music everywhere!
Hmmm food choices, Mexican and Chinese are the preferred favorites.
Glad you enjoy your Smart Phone…I’m sticking with one that just makes calls and nothing else. I don’t need any more distractions then I already have.
Awww, what a cute capture!
