Electric Coolaid Acid Bus - Colorful Old School Bus - SODO District

What the heck?

:  :  :

What IS this?

An old school bus, obviously.

It was painted randomly, with wild colors and subjects…

Electric Koolaid Acid Bus,

seemed to fit about as well as anything else.

It was also obvious that someone or some people were living in this vehicle.

Parked on a side street just a few blocks south of both professional sport stadiums in the SODO District

(south of downtown) of Seattle,

it was out of place,

with it’s odd

and somewhat freakish paint job.

What do you think?

Today,

is ‘Random 5 Friday,’

over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal,’

where we link up a post with some facts about ourselves.

Here are my five:

(1) I’ve been researching my family (and my husband’s family) genealogy for a about 10 years.  It is fascinating, like putting together a puzzle.

(2) I love driving.

(3) I am so thankful for every day the Lord gives me!

(4) I recently bought a ‘Black Rapid’ shoulder strap for my camera, LOVE it!

(5) I’m excited about the up coming NFL season, GO SEAHAWKS!

: : :

There you go,

see you tomorrow for

‘Weekly Top Shot #95.’

  1. First thing I thought of was that this bus was most certainly not the Partridge Family bus…much more colorful and interesting!

Football season fever is here but I gave up on the sport a few years back. I use to watch all the time (was an Oakland Raider fan) but lost the thrill when the team started going down hill and just couldn’t root for the Seahawks no matter how hard I tried due to the old rivalry when they were in the same league as the Raiders.

  2. I’m thinking that must have been a tour bus at one time. What a great find.

Sorry I’ve been a bit absent here — hoping things settle down so I can get back to some serious blogging fun.

Have a super weekend my friend.

  3. Reminds me of Samoa, where most all of the public transportation were buses without windows, hand painted bright, beautiful colors, and often including messages to loved ones or spiritual verses written on top of the the artwork. I’m guessing they were all privately owned. THESE BUSES really made traveling interesting.

  4. It’s groovy, baby! I absolutely LOVE this bus!!! But then I drove 1968 Volkswagen bus painted with flowers…think Scooby Doo :)

Genealogy is fascinating. I can’t believe it is time for football again but I am so happy! Go Panthers!!!
