Hotmail - Customized Mailbox - Palouse WA

Mailboxes, a usual necessity to receive mail from the U.S. Postal Service.

:  :  :

Quite often in rural areas,

I see more customized mailboxes than I ever do in urban areas.

:  :  :

Here,

along a stretch of very rural gravel road

in the Palouse region of southeastern Washington state,

I came across this large mailbox painted in flames.

I chuckled to myself as I took a couple shots,

it gave a new meaning to

‘hotmail.’

NOW ya Dun It!!! I’m gonna have to dig out old photos to show you the rural mailbox – in Tulare, CA – it was all important to me – because it was a connection to my own world – rather far away (unwanted city kid . . go figure) . . . I got so attached to mailboxes – I painted one with flowers all around for a final exam in University. ALL my classmates were normal – it was Arizona – land of cacti, sunsets, palms and donkeys . . which perfectly describes every other piece submitted for that class. Mine was a dream “Hawaii” Mailbox . . . I even had to get special permission to use silver for my exam . . . . aced the class, too-
    Mailboxes . . . . Primal need for a few of us.

    love & love,
    -g-
