Penn Cove Clams

Penn Cove - Manila Clams - Pike Place Market

Delicious with melted butter, Manila Clams are a common Pacific Northwest seafood.

Offered at the City Fish Market,

a fish monger at Pike Place Market, sells these locally grown and harvested clams.

Here,

I’ve caught the beautiful textures and colors of the shells of clams

raised in Penn Cove off Whidbey Island

in northern Puget Sound.

Today,

is ‘Random 5 Friday,’

over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal,’

where we link up a post with some facts about ourselves.

Here are my five:

(1) I love buttermilk and plain yogurt.

(2) I love and wear cowboy boots.  I have three pair of Lucchese handmade boots, two pair of Tony Lamas, and two pairs of Nocona.

(3) If I could afford a pair of ‘Old Gringo’ boots it would be sweet.

(4) I vacuum my silk flowers to keep them clean.

(5) Pulled pork sandwiches are a favorite of mine.
