A fiery sky is sight to behold and one that doesn’t happen often.
: : :
Have you ever woke up,
headed out to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee
only to notice suddenly your house is glowing a pinky-orange inside?
: : :
For me this signals a five minute dash,
throw on clothes (as fast as a fireman suits up),
grab the always ready camera gear and fly out to the car,
drive east to find the first clear view of the Cascade Mountains
and be met with the glorious sight of
fire in the sky.

Wow!
It just doesn’t get
much better
than this!

Today is ‘Random 5 Friday‘ over at my friend Nancy’s place, ‘A Rural Journal.’
Here are my five random facts about moi:
(1) I love wearing baseball hats or cadet caps on bad hair days, I allow myself at least one of those per week!
(2) I always wear nail polish. I do my own manicures at home with CND Shellac with a UV light.
(3) I like wearing coveralls and a t-shirt for working around home.
(4) I’m a life-long Scrabble player.
(5) I don’t like or buy store brand mayonnaise, just Best Foods for me!
There you go!

See you tomorrow for Weekly Top Shot…

Hi
Amazing sky
have a nice weekend
best kind of fire in the sky. was sure glad it wasn’t wildfire. :)
What a gorgeous sky! Makes me long for the sunrises we’d see when we lived in Arizona.
That’s a view. I might stop drinking coffee for that everyday.
This is gorgeous!
WOW, what a gorgeous sky! AND it’s only Best Food’s for me!!
Fire in the sky is right … gorgeous! I have so many baseball caps I could start my own cap store. I don’t do my nails often. I think because I seem to have my hands in paint most days.
Hi Madge! Yay for capturing awesome sky shots.
As a Ranch Wife ball caps or visors are a must! I almost feel naked without one and the sun is so bright.
I am not a nail polish person. I have a bottle of pretty polish and intentions of painting my nails … I got the polish in March and I still have not done it yet.
Hope your weekend is great. I will be ready to link up tomorrow!
Wow! Fantastic photography of nature’s gem ~ Happy Weekend ^_^
We had a magnificent red sky last evening – they never get old. Beautiful capture. Been side-tracked a bit lately, but hope you are continuing towards well health and having a delightful summer.
It’s like looking into a fire.
Madge, that picture is truly amazing! The glorious colors against the mountains is breath-taking! Thanks for sharing!

Las Vegas
Totally fabulous sunrise. – I’m so not a morning person though so I always miss out on the sunrises.
A bad hair day is becoming the norm for me lately, I need a good perm and cut (or a hat!)
That is one of the most amazing captures of a sunset I have seen!! Thank you for sharing it with us:)
Yesterday I had a small class of seven year olds and one of them noticed the sunset- since it was Creative Writing Class – what else could we do???!!!! – but change the topic to Sunsets. They wrote about it as it changed until it disappeared. A great experience!
What a spectacular capture! Sunrise is my favorite time of day, followed closely by sunset :)
I end up doing that all the time…I’m an early riser and live on the beach. Sometimes I just throw a sweater on over my pajamas. People must think I’m nuts. Also, a non-store brand mayo buyer. I only use Hellmans.
A remarkable sky! WOW is well deserved.
Oh wow Madge, it’s fabulous!
Do you subscribe to the old saying “Red sky in the morning, sailor’s warning?”
What is a cadet cap? :)
I’m not sure if I do or not, you can predict rain in Seattle and be right most of the time! Lol… a cadet cap is similar to a baseball cap, but styled like the flat top military caps…
Stunning sky!
