4th of July 2013

US Flag atop Starbucks Headquarters - SODO District, Seattle WA

Baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet.

My post today has nothing to do with any of those specifically,

but in general I do think along those lines when it comes to the 4th of July.

These things are traditionally thought of as true-blue American.

Here early this morning,

just a little bit after sunrise I’ve caught the top of the clock tower of

Starbucks International Headquarters in the SODO District of Seattle.

Waving gracefully above the Starbucks Sirens is the American Flag,

showing her colors on Independence Day.

The symbol of the Land of the Free,

because of the Brave.

Yes, you heard me right.

I hit another milestone in my recuperation

from cervical spine fusion surgery, pneumonia and five blood clots.

I left the house before dawn this morning to go out shooting, just like normal.

Yippee!

Happy Fourth to all my fellow American blogger friends…

Which will you do today?

Watch baseball.

Eat a hotdog,

Relish eating a slice of apple pie,

or see the USA in your Chevrolet!?

:  :  :

I’ll probably eat a hotdog…

  1. I can only imagine how happy you were to make the 4th a real celebration! My daughter, post gall bladder surgery, developed 3 clots in her lung…makes you wonder if something is being overlooked. However, like you, see celebrated too!…:)JP

I was in Starbucks two times and had cherry pie (that was almost too tart). I watched some baseball, enjoyed the family, went to an evening birthday party…and ate too much! :-)

  3. Nothing like a beautiful pic of the American flag. So glad you are feeling more back to normal – must have seemed like forever. Hope you had a great 4th. We had a picnic in a beautiful arboretum in a pavilion between rain showers (3 total!) but it was a great time still. :)
