Angry clouds advance across the Palouse.
: : :
Here, a small farm building sits atop a rise
in the undulating hills of the Palouse in southeastern Washington state,
while an angry, dark gray storm approaches pushing blue skies and fluffy cumulus clouds away.

Today is ‘Barn Charm‘ over at my friend Tricia’s place, ‘Bluff Area Daily.’
I’m sharing this with her popular meme,
even though technically it’s not a barn.

We are in the midst of a heat wave here in Seattle,
with high temps in the 90s, which is very hot for us northwesterners.
I normally dress in jeans and t-shirt year round,
but today for a medical appointment I will be wearing a black dress
with large white polka dots, a fuschia colored cardigan and black flip-flops…
ah, summer in the northwest!

Beautiful shot.
that’s really beautiful!
Stunning. Hope that building can remain standing in spite of the storm that is approaching!
What a beautiful image!!
Stunning photo – love the scene and the dark clouds!
Terrific Madge! Absolutely perfect composition.
This is really good. The pic sure would be gorgeous as a painting.
What a great perspective in this shot! It amazes me how such a building survives big storms. Hope all went with at the doctor!!!
Gorgeous shot of the old building and the dramatic clouds. The rust on the roof makes it look like a checker board.
This is an awesome shot Madge! Absolutely beautiful!!!
Oh, I so love this…love the storm moving in!
I have no idea why, but I just love this atmosphere — the one the above photo has created. Maybe I was a storm last life :)
It looks like that shed has survived quite a few storms. High 80s today here in Dallas, the weather is beautiful.
Great shot…this little shed looks so fragile against those angry storms clouds. Hope you get some cooler weather soon!!!
WOW, what storm clouds? We’ve had 5 1/2 inches of rain in May, 6 1/2 inches in June and as of this morning we’re at 1/2 inch for July. We can’t get our hay harvested for the afternoon storms. I won’t moan too much though because the ground needed every bit of it.
I hope your medical appointment went well! I also love your blog!
Rita
What a beauty! Thanks for joining =)
I love, love love this one! Wow! What a great mood the sky lends to the scene. Great capture. Crazy weather for the PNW, huh!? It’s sweltering here in NorCal…just a tad hotter than usual for this time of year.
This is so good. The Palouse is such a beautiful area. You have captured it perfectly. Enjoy the heat!
Great shot, Madge! Stay cool on your side of the “rock pile”. Its been a 100 on this side.
What a great shot. Clouds so menacing, and just perfectly framed.
That’s an awesome shot for so many reasons! Happy 4th!
I love this picture, Madge! Been thinking about you lately and hope all is well. xo
Beautiful!
Madge, that is breathtaking! Hope you’re feeling better.
Some day I’m going to photograph that beautiful area! Lovely image.
