Tahoma National Cemetery is only one of four located in the Pacific Northwest.
: : :
Of the four national cemeteries in the Pacific Northwest,
Washington State has only one of them.
and that is Tahoma, located between the cities of Kent and Maple Valley
about a forty minute drive from downtown Seattle.
The other three National cemeteries are located in the State of Oregon.

Today, Memorial Day,
formerly known as Decoration Day,
is a day of remembrance of those who have given their lives
in service to the United States of America through military service.

Here,
I’ve caught an Honor Guard member, saluting the United States Flag,
during ceremonies at Tahoma National Cemetery.

My father is buried in this hallowed ground of heroes.
Tahoma is such a beautiful National cemetery,
on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day the ‘Street of Heros’ is lined with flags,
and on a clear day from the flag plaza at the north end of the drive
you can see majestic Mount Rainier.

My father, James Caudle, was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran,
Tech 4 with a Tank Destroyer Unit, landing on Normandy on D-Day +6,
he fought through the Battle of the Bulge
and was always a Patriot.

I am proud my father was a veteran
and I honor all veterans on this the day we as a nation
set aside to remember their valor,
service and
sacrifice.

The text of your post today is lovely, Madge, as is the photograph.
I went back a few weeks to check on your health. The mentions of the blood clots are fewer, so I am hoping that you are on the mend or pretty close. Hope so.
Excellent Madge — my dad served in WWII in France and Germany. True heroes. xo
