Pike Place Market, one of my ‘go to’ places in Seattle to photograph.
: : :
Much like Fishermen’s Terminal
in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle,
Pike Place Market in downtown is always teeming with sights,
sounds, color and people.
: : :
Here,
I’ve walked out on a skybridge
connecting the Market with an elevator to nearby parking,
and caught some fabulous colors,
and a different view of one of the neon signs which are recognizable
and part of the character of the Market itself.
: : :
It is Memorial Day Weekend.
While I would love to be camping and fishing, it’s not happening this year.
We may shop for a new mattress,
that’s always nice, isn’t it?
A new mattress…

Gorgeous blue sky–I like it that you shot the sign backwards, cool :)
Great shot – seems there is always something “new” to see at the market.
A new mattress is always nice.!!
what a range of sights to see in Seattle! I too like the backward sign. I wonder what that says about us. gorgeous sky!
Mattress shopping — I think I might prefer a teeth cleaning. Lol!
Such an imaginative shot — have a good weekend my friend.
You’ve really captured a great photo of a place that makes me want to visit…love! Have a nice memorial day! (Even if it is mattress shopping…I’m sure that’s going to be nice!)
Love the reverse review of this iconic sign.
Beautiful shot! A new mattress works for me :)
Love the row of lighted windows and that flare!
Great shot Madge!
Hope your Dr.’s appointment went well.
Madge, You always have some of the best shots! Love the colors on this one. A new mattress sounds nice. You’ll probably get a good deal this weekend.
A new mattress sound mighty good! Sorry you won’t be camping and fishing though.
It’s fun to take photos of landmarks from unusual perspectives. I like this one, especially the blue hues. Nice!
We loved mattress shopping – but then I kind of get get a bit confused because everything starts to feel the same!
We just did that last weekend…shopped for a mattress! First one ever, I think, in my life…I’ve always had hand-me-downs! Hope you are well, my friend! xo
Sometimes a new mattress is a good thing. Not the most exciting way to spend a weekend, but a new mattress is definitely a good thing. Hope you are on the mend and feeling better.
Lovely time of day to be taking photos
This photo is so much about color for me Madge… well done.
You can definitely see your expertise within the
article you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers like you who aren’t afraid to mention how they believe. Always go after your heart.
It certainly sounds like a bustling vibrant place Madge …. you have captured a touch of the ambiance beautifully.
Like those backside views you catch of the market signs, Madge!
I’ve never had the joy of visiting Seattle, but I know all about this market! It’s on my some day list. :)
Hope you’re feeling much better! I was away a bit on a short notice trip, so I feel I’m a bit behind and may have missed a few things.
I like the repetition of geometric shapes and the glowing colour your have emphasised.
Love your photography. With a daughter living outside Seattle and me living on the east coast seeing your photography always reminds me of our wonderful visits!
Love the light in your shot!
The deep blue color, with the bright yellow windows and the reddish sign makes a wonderful coloristic symphony – wonderful once again, Madge!
Yes, camping is very good but a new mattress is wonderful!! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! :)
Beautiful colors.
Great capture! I love that you’ve captured the back side of the sign.
