Farm equipment often becomes farmyard ‘art’ when parked and never moved again.
: : :
Here,
near the Whitman County seat town of Colfax,
an old farm truck has done just that, become yard ‘art.’
You know I’m just joshing, it isn’t really art, but in my eyes often they are.
These old farm trucks and other pieces of equipment gain a certain aging patina that is rustic and beautiful,
and the premier wheat growing region of southeast Washington state, the Palouse provides the perfect canvas for farm ‘art.’
This old Dodge flatbed is painted one of my favorite vehicles colors of all time,
‘Robin’s Egg Blue.’

Oh, if I came across this…people would be able to hear me for miles…major love. Great capture!!
An old classic like this is eye candy.
LOVE the colors. What a great find!
It is indeed farmyard “art.” ! Love it!
I love that old truck! The color is so pretty.
Oh, I think they’re “farm art” :)
I love this old truck and I’d love to have one in my yard, tho I’m not sure my hubby would ;)
Sometimes I think they really are farm art. This is a great find. I love the color also!
Your old truck is a wonderful image. These old vehicles seem to get better with age. Fine post.
I LOVE this old truck!!!
Love the ‘farm yard art’ ~ very creative photo ~ thanks for hosting also ^_^
LOVE ‘farmyard art’! I’ll never look at junk cars and trucks dotting the landscape quite the same after this.
A wonderful shot of the rusted truck! I’m glad it still shows its color well.
That old truck is a dandy, and I agree with you – the color is my favorite to find on a vehicle, or almost anything metal. :)
Hope you continue to feel better each day!
Love that turquoise Madge!
I like to think of the abandoned farm truck as photogenic and artistic too!
That is an awesome old truck!
I’m glad you are feeling a bit better! :)
Love that old truck. Old rusty cars and trucks are used for “yard art” around here quite often! LOL!!
Stay strong, you’ll feel better each day! I *love* old pickemup trucks!
Great photo, I love old trucks. I think I need one in my yard as an art piece!!
I have a 1987 Merc that is in the process of becoming farm art. :)
Love your old Dodge farm truck Madge! I posted one today too.
The photo makes it look so dreamy and lovely but I hope it won’t just be left there to rot.
That’s a great find, Madge! I love the color, too.
When you capture it ‘on film’ it certainly is art! Fabulous photo Madge!
Sorry I haven’t been around much to stay on top of your healing progress. Hope and pray you’re doing well and making a wonderful and speedy recovery!
Blessings!
Wonderful old truck. One of my favorite colors also! I see several old vehicles on here this week.
This is just too wonderful! LOVE the color!
I think that your equipment-to-art observation is an astute one. I hadn’t noticed that before, but you are to some extent right.
Thanks for a fun post and meme.
All the best, Ess
Someone should give that truck some TLC.
I love old pick-ups! This is stunning! We have an old dump truck that we still use. It’s been here since ’52! I think.
What a beauty of a Truck-don’t you just wonder what it’s history is and what stories it would tell!
Great photo!

It seems to be a standard on most old farms too. I never dreamed my great-grandparents’ farm would house so much “art” because they were meticulous about keeping it up (as far as farms go) but today it is a regular Louvre. Nice photo, presents this left over in a more artsy and less trashy way.
Oh I love beautiful, old farm trucks… and this is my favorite color too!
What an exciting find!
Your photos seem to turn many ordinary things, into extraordinary art.
This is lovely.
i love love love love old beat up deserted truck carcasses
Great shot! That was certainly a popular color for vehicles at that time. It’s the same color of my grandparents’ old station wagon.
Cool photo!
I grew up on a farm and I remember seeing plenty of “farmyard art.”
She’s a beaut! Hope all is going well!!!
Madge, that is too cool! My favorite, too.
Praying that you’ll continue to get better every day.
Oh I love this. That color is awesome!
What a great photo. I am looking forward to posting some pictures to your Rurality Blog hop…what a great idea!
